Welcome to the website of the Harvard College Bowl team! Harvard College Bowl is a student-run organization at Harvard College that celebrates knowledge and rewards the accumulation of trivia. While most of our members are undergraduates, graduate students from all of Harvard's schools are eligible to participate. Newcomers are welcomed, and the only prerequisite is intellectual curiosity.
We are happy to announce the 2008 Harvard Fall Tournament for high schools, which will be held Saturday, November 15.
College Bowl is like team Jeopardy! with an intellectual bent; questions cover all branches of knowledge from science to philosophy to literature. As a team, we compete both locally and nationally at intercollegiate academic tournaments against peer institutions. We also hold friendly scrimmages twice weekly, from 7-9 PM on Mondays and Thursdays in Memorial Hall 303.
A team of Kyle Haddad-Fonda, Adam Hallowell, Julia Schlozman, and John Lesieutre finished third in the second playoff bracket at 2008 ACF Nationals, tying with a non-Harvard-affiliated team that included Bruce Arthur and Ted Gioia.
The Harvard College Bowl Club will host the third annual Harvard Fall Tournament on Saturday, November 15, 2008.
Andrew Watkins will serve as tournament director, with Kyle Haddad-Fonda and Adam Hallowell as the tournament's editors. Register by email: Andy can be reached at watkins4 [at] fas.harvard.edu.
The tournament will be PACE-affiliated, meaning that the top four teams should get automatic bids to the PACE NSC.
I'm moving the website over to Drupal to make it easier to add news, announcements, etc. Feel free to create an account and let me know if there's anything you want on the site!
The A team (Julia Schlozman, Kyle Haddad-Fonda, Adam Hallowell, John Lesieutre) wins undergraduate title at NAQT ICT in St. Louis. B team (Manny Antunes, Meryl Federman, Andy Watkins, Brian Young) places second in their playoff bracket. Full tournament results are posted here.
Congratulations to Walt Whitman for their victory! Statistics are linked below.
