Public address by president Álvaro Uribe Velez in Harvard Kennedy School
The president, a Harvard Extension School graduate, was invited by the university to be the keynote speaker at the Centennial Academic Convocation of the Extension School, as well as to give a public address at the JFK Forum of the Kennedy School of Government. His agenda also included a faculty and student seminar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, and a meeting with Harvard Colombian students.

Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation in Colombia (CTI Colombia) was held in November 2005, featuring a large number or of programs/projects on science and technology in Colombia (24 speakers in 2 days). There was a large involvement of government (Ministry of education and Colciencias), academia (Colombia and U.S.) and industry with students/professionals in the New England area (>300 participants)
