Speaker Event Team
This group plans large speaker events and dinners throughout the semester, also organizing a Catholic faculty dinner during the fall semester. Come to meet other Catholics and learn more about your faith! More information on the speaker schedule for this semester will be posted in the weeks to come. Past event topics have included discussions on bioethics, Catholicism in politics, and the right to life, among others. If you have any questions, please contact Katherine Petti (kpetti@fas.harvard.edu) or Tom Lawless (tlawless@fas.harvard.edu).
CSA "Super Tuesdays"
Every Tuesday night from 8:00 - 10:30 p.m., CSA "Super Tuesdays" opens the Catholic Student Center Lounge to the entire undergraduate community for study breaks and a chance to socialize. The theme changes every week and new suggestions are always welcome. In the past, we've watched the Boston Red Sox on TV, played "Havardopoly," relaxed at regression nights with Disney movies, and enjoyed Christmas, Mardi Gras, and St. Patrick's Day parties. "Super Tuesdays" events are a great opportunity for Catholics at Harvard to take a break and make new friends, or even catch up with old ones! For more information, please contact Laura de la Garza (laurala@fas.harvard.edu) or Marisol Boc (rmboc@fas.harvard.edu).
"Go Team Catholic" Social Planning Team
The "Go Team Catholic" Social Planning Team organizes fun activities for CSA members and their friends to relax, experience Boston and Cambridge, and meet each other! We do everything from apple picking to concerts, dances and parties to movie nights. Please contact Janie Fredell (jfredell@fas.harvard.edu) for more information about upcoming social activities.
Cornerstone
"The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone" (Psalm 118:22).
We are all members of the Body of Christ. Cornerstone is a CSA group that seeks the full enfranchisement of Catholic BGLT students. Cornerstone meets monthly in the Catholic Student Center. The group is welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of diverse sexual and spiritual identities. Furthermore, it offers a support system for those trying to understand the way in which their sexuality relates to the Catholic faith. Discussion at meetings can be both serious and light-hearted; and movie nights, field trips, and study breaks with BAGELS (the Hillel BGLT group) are frequently arranged. Foremost, Cornerstone can be a great source of lasting friendships. If you have any questions, please contact Roger Mercado (rmercado@fas.harvard.edu).
CSA Ecumenical Outreach Team
The CSA Ecumenical Outreach Team works to foster dialogue between Harvard Catholics and members of other Christian fellowships and faith groups on campus. We act as liaisons to the Harvard Interfaith Council, and our goal in this academic community is to foster understanding and friendly relationships between members of different faith backgrounds. We also coordinate Belief in Action, an interfaith day of service where members of different faith traditions come together to work on projects aimed at directly helping less fortunate people in the surrounding community. For more information on interfaith activities, please contact Ona Strikas (ostrikas@fas.harvard.edu).
