Albert Herring

The Dunster House Opera Society is proud to announce its 2010 production of Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring, featuring a libretto by Eric Crozier. Music Director Nico Olarte-Hayes '11 will join Stage Director Stewart Kramer '12 in bringing this comic chamber opera to life. Produced by Ashley Kaupert '12 and Tiffany Bradshaw '10.

Performances will run from February 5th-13th.

DHO Website Updated

Dunster House Opera is excited to announce a significant update to its website. In addition to underlying changes to increase performance, we hope you'll enjoy our new look and improved usability. We welcome your feedback and comments.

New features include an overall look and feel that is compatible with the latest standards and web browsers, increased width to accommodate newer displays, improved menus, and a complete system upgrade to the latest version of our web platform.

DHO Elects Officers

The Dunster House Opera Society, Harvard's only all-undergraduate organization dedicated to the art of accessible opera, is proud to announce its officers for 2008-09. Matthew Bird '10 will take on the role of President, succeeding Noah Van Neil '08. He will be joined by Katie Schick '10 (historian), and Elena Butler '10 (treasurer).

The Tender Land - An Opera in Three Acts

Dunster House Opera Society and the Bach Society Orchestra are delighted to announce a co-production of Aaron Copland's The Tender Land, with libretto by Horace Everett.

This semi-staged work will be performed in the beautiful Harvard Memorial Church. Commissioned in 1952 by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for network television, Aaron Copland's masterpiece The Tender Land is one of the finest and most underrated works in the American repertoire.

Orchestra Auditions

Information about auditioning for DHO's Spring 2010 production will be online in late August/September.

Dunster House Opera Announce their 07-08 Production!

DHO is proud to announce their 2008 production of Mozart's Così fan tutte. Continuing on from last year's success with The Marriage of Figaro, music director John Sullivan '09 will be joined by stage director Matthew Spellberg '09 for what promises to be a spectacular opera. The show will be produced by Lucy MacKinnon '09 and Catherine Powell '08. Performances will take place during February 2008 - details will be forthcoming.
