Software

Current software

The OS/161 instructional operating system and the System/161 machine simulator. web page download
The Linux NetKit.   download
I'm theoretically still looking after this. this page explains what happened in 1999. What happened since is that in late 2002, just as I was about to make another release, real life came and bit me very hard, and I haven't had even a shadow of the necessary time since. Sigh. I keep hoping some time will appear soon. Use 0.18pre1. (Particularly for telnetd, as the 0.17 telnetd is, regrettably, exploitable. Though the 0.18 one probably is too. The telnet code sucks.)

Old Software

The VINO operating system. web page download
Professional Galactic Empires, a multiplayer campaign game. web page download
Currently dead. I keep hoping to bring it back as a web application.
netwrite, a version of Unix write(1) with network support.
Now folded into NetKit.
MAKEDEV-C, a MAKEDEV tool for Linux back in the 1.0.x days.   download
Very obsolete and no longer supported. Historical curiosity only.

Patches and Stuff

Fixes for XFrisk. This includes the "efnet14" patchset against XFrisk 1.00, and also now a couple patches against XFrisk 1.2.   download
The XFrisk-1.00 patches are of only historical interest, if that. I should probably roll forward the bits that didn't get merged, like the Latin translation. Real Soon Now.
Fixed version of xstratego.   download
Still current, as far as I know. These changes make xstratego work on modern Unix systems, and allow network play between systems of different host types. The unpatched original is somewhere on ftp.x.org.
