9:00, TAYUN (1) v. Hooligans (8) The undefeated TAYUN was recently tested by a strong Bengal team and proved themselves to be the clear favorite coming into this tournament behind the quiet superstardom of Chris "Cake" Stevens, the (not-so-quiet) leadership of Eli Levenwhat-ever, and Jeff Graham occasionally showing up. They took care of the Hooligans 15-7 in week 1, but the Hooligans tonight will look very different than the team that got rolled in pool play. With Charles Lei and Jimmy Sun around the disc, monster cutters Phil Roebuck and Evan Sprecher can be forces downfield giving fits to the TAYUN defenders. Prediction: The Hooligans will need to tighten up their subbing rotation a bit to stay in this one, but look for TAYUN to pull it out in a battle that will be closer than one might expect out of a 1-8 matchup. 9:45, Bling (3) v. Gale Force Wins (6) Field-style is going to be the key to this game as we see the most stylish teams from the two pools matchup in what will be a heated quarterfinals. Bling is coming off a strong win over Bluedman Group and rides on the shoulders of stars Grant D'Arcy and Will "Past His Prime" Chen. Look for them to be involved in nearly every Bling goal. But will their tight battle in the BCS hunt become more important to these two prima donnas than the win? With tight downfield defense, Gale Force might be able to capitalize on a couple turnovers from Bling throwers looking off the dump in favor of a questionable endzone-look. Gale Force Wins is looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Mean Girls in the crossover, and is going to need all cylinders firing for a shot at the semis. Recent no-show and 1st round pick Joey Shapiro will need to both show up and "show up," validating Gale's draft by getting out of the red in +/-. Also, they'll need sophomore Dave Lipson opening things up downfield and limiting his turns. If they divide their duties and leave the handling to Weinstein and Shapiro they'll have a shot at the upset. Prediction: Bling takes an early lead of a couple breaks and pulls away in the second half.
