Sorry to not put out predictions before the first games of the consolation bracket. Rest assured that the games went exactly as I would have predicted, with Bluedman Group trouncing the Hooligans and Tang DyNasty squeeking by GFW on double-game point. Just as I predicted. Tonight will be all about heart for the four teams remaining in the title hunt. First up, a Bling v. Bengals rematch of pool play, which the Bengals took 15-11. Having played that one without Will Chen, Bling comes into this one with the confidence necessary to get to the finals in this league. However, questions abound regarding how well-prepared they are for this game. An inside source tells me Chen's quad is still bothering him from this past weekend, putting him at about 90% for this matchup. Also, young handler Adam Johnston remains untested in high-pressure situations. Will he sink or swim? With two coaches in the crowd, his performance in this game may decide how much playing time he gets at Regionals in the spring. Prediction: Each point is exciting and hard-fought, but the Bengals give themselves a cushion early and hold off a Bling run at the end. Will's trash talk confuses opponents, spectators, and teammates alike. Game 2: The much-anticipated TAYUN v. Mean Girls matchup. The most important matchup in this game is clearly the battle of the overly-nerdy freshman, Pi and Obi. These two will be making plays on each other on both sides of the court, but I think I read on some website that Obi sucks, and is going to get skied. Maybe it was espn.com? Prediction: Mean Girls make some plays and make it close early on. As soon as this happens, Jeff Graham starts to catch some goals and its over for the Mean Girls. TAYUN/Bengals rematch in the finals next week.
