If you played high school sports and would like to stay active, Ultimate is for you, no experience necessary! It is a great opportunity to play on a competitive team, stay in shape, travel around the country, and be part of a close-knit team on a quest to be the best college Ultimate team in the country. A little about our teams:
Harvard has both an A team (Red Line) and a B team (Bred Line). Our A team is a perennial contender out of the New England Region. The A team is coached by Josh McCarthy, who is currently on the elite level club team Boston Ultimate. While we play year-round, the college season is not until the spring. During the Fall we travel to some tournaments around the region, focusing on developing younger players, building a base for the spring season, and having fun. When the cold winter months hit, we have an 8-team indoor league, yielding much trash talk. Once January rolls around, we split into our A team and our B team and train for the Spring, which includes tournaments around the country, Spring Break in the South, and then a local tournament to tune up before Sectionals, Regionals, and Nationals.
Last Year:
The 2006-2007 season saw Harvard Men's Ultimate claim its first Yale Cup victory in early April by battling past Brown and Dartmouth en route to the championship. But, after earning bids to College Nationals in 2005 and 2006, the Red Line came up short at Regionals in 2007, finishing 5th.
