This hex code has made it’s way across the Internet over the last few days and has caused a great many cease and desist letters to be issued from the AACS LA. The code in question is a 16 bit hex key also known as a “Volume Processing Key” which allows software to decrypt next generation HD DVD.
Users are revolting at Digg.com over a fierce take down battle, blogs are disappearing from Blogspot, T Shirts sporting the code are disappearing from Cafe Press, and songs are appearing on YouTube with lyrics comprised of 16 hex keys.
