Quote of the week...

"Every year we wait to address this problem will make any eventual solution more painful and drastic, and we will saddle our children and grandchildren with an ever-greater burden. We need to act now to fix Social Security permanently."

- President Bush, in his weekly radio address on February 26th.

Bush is on a five-state tour to sell the American public the agenda he laid out before Congress in his State of the Union address. Bush focused on his proposal to change the Social Security system, which he says is heading for bankruptcy. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)

BOTTOM PHOTO: Despite the Democratic Party's current insistance "that there is no crisis" in the Social Security system, they have not always denied it. In this photo dated February 9, 1998, then-President Clinton gestures during an address on the Social Security system at Georgetown. The president prodded Congress to make saving budget surplus funds for a future fix of Social Security, "the driving principal of this year's work." (AP Photo/J.Scott Applewhite)
