Hello, fellow Republicans! HRC has a number of exciting events coming up this
week, from elections to campaigning opportunities to our first party of the
year! Here's what's happening:
I. HRC Member-at-Large Elections - Tuesday - HRC will be holding elections for
a second Member-at-Large to join the Executive Board, as per our recent
constitutional revisions. The elections will take place at 9 PM in Emerson
305. All dues-paid members are eligible to vote in the election, and members
of all classes, freshmen included, are encouraged to run for the position! You
must be dues-paid prior to the beginning of elections to be eligible to
vote. You will be able to pay dues at the door immediately prior to the

II. Christina Martin Study Group - Thursday - Join Christina Martin, former
Press Secretary to Newt Gingrich and former member of President George H.W.
Bush's administration, for her first study group of the year at the IOP! The
study group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 4-5:30 PM in IOP room L-166.

III. Peter Augustine Lawler Talk - Friday - At 5:30 PM in Sever 103, the
Salient will host "Stuck with Virtue Conservatism," a talk with Dr. Peter
Augustine Lawler, Professor of Government at Berry College in Georgia and
distinguished conservative thinker. Contact Chris (clacaria@fas) with

IV. Massachusetts Alliance of College Republicans Fall Convention - Saturday
-Join college Republicans from across the state for the first MACR convention
of the year, and help campaign for Kerry Healey! The convention will be held
at MIT in the Green Building, First Floor. Here's the schedule of events:

1:30-2:00pm Regional Vice Chairs talk with each region

V. HRC Party - Saturday - Live it up with your fellow Republicans this Saturday
night at the first HRC party of the year! The event will take place from 10-12
PM in the Lowell House Tower Room. Great music, great drinks, great food, and

VI. Campaign for Kerry Healey - October 7 - HRC will join College Republicans
from around the state on a day trip to Cape Cod to campaign for Massachussets
Republican gubernatorial candidate and Harvard graduate Kerry Healey, as well
as a local state house race. More information regarding sign-ups is to come.

VII. Campaign for Rick Santorum - October 13-15 - Join Republicans from Harvard
and across the northeast on a weekend excursion to Pennsylvania to campaign for
the reelection of Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. More details to come.

VIII. Pay Dues - To become a dues-paid member of the Harvard Republican Club,
send a check for $5 made out to "Harvard Republican Club" via University Mail
to Jeffrey Kwong, Winthrop Mail Center 264. Be sure to include your name and
e-mail address in the envelope. Paying dues gets you a membership card,
priority in our events, the right to vote in our elections, and other benefits.
IX. Buy your textbooks on Amazon.com - Help the HRC and get your textbooks for
