Hello, fellow Republicans! HRC has a number of exciting events coming up this week. Here's what's happening:

I. HRC Committee Meetings - Wednesday - In conjunction with this year's new HRC initiatives, we'll be forming three committees this semester to take on various important prerogatives of the HRC. Freshmen and upperclassmen alike are encouraged to attend one or more of the introductory committee meetings to find out how to get more involved. The meeting schedule is as follows:

Activism Committee - 9 PM Wednesday, October 11, 10 DeWolfe 36. Contact: Jeff (jkwong@fas).

II. Campaign for Rick Santorum - Friday-Sunday - Join Republicans from Harvard and across the northeast on a weekend excursion to Pennsylvania October 13-15 to campaign for the reelection of Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. More details to come. Contact Caleb (weatherl@fas) with questions.

III. Campaign for Kerry Healey - October 28 - HRC will join College Republicans from across the state on a Saturday trip to Cape Cod to campaign for Massachusetts Republican gubernatorial candidate and Harvard graduate Kerry Healey, as well as a local state house race. IV. Christina Martin Study Group - Thursday - Join Christina Martin, former Press Secretary to Newt Gingrich and former member of President George H.W. Bush's administration, for her study group this week at the IOP! The study group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 4-5:30 PM in IOP room L-166. V. Iraq Debate - Thursday - At 6 PM this Thursday, Victor Davis Hanson, a Senior Fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution, and Lawrence Korb, a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress, will debate whether the U.S. should finish its mission in Iraq or withdraw. The debate will take place in the IOP Forum.

VI. RNC vs. DNC Debate - October 23 - At 6 PM next Monday, October 23, Ed Gillespie (RNC Chairman, 2003-2005) will take on Terry McAuliffe (DNC Chairman, 2001-2005) in a debate about what's at stake in the upcoming 2006 elections. The debate will take place in the IOP Forum.

VII. Pay Dues - To become a dues-paid member of the Harvard Republican Club, send a check for $5 made out to "Harvard Republican Club" via University Mail to Jeffrey Kwong, Winthrop Mail Center 264. Be sure to include your name and e-mail address in the envelope. Paying dues gets you a membership card, priority in our events, the right to vote in our elections, and other benefits.
