Hello, fellow Republicans!  It's election week, so be sure to check out all of the exciting HRC activities!

 

I.  Election Night Party - Tuesday - On the evening of Tuesday, November 7, HRC will be holding an election night party in the IOP Forum.  Join your fellow HRC members for pizza and refreshments as election results come in on Fox News!  The festivities begin at 8 PM.

 

II.  Victory 2006: A Post-Election Party - Friday - The HRC Social Events Committee is pleased to invite you and your friends to the biggest HRC party this semester this Friday, November 10, at 10 PM in Leverett D-41.  We'll have plenty of drinks and snacks, plus a toast to Republican victory!  WARNING: We'll be counting how many seats the Democrats win in your state for a fun little game.  Contact Zach (zsmith@fas) with questions.  

 

III.  General Board Meeting - Wednesday - Join your fellow Harvard Republicans for this week's General Board Meeting!  The meeting will be held this Wednesday at 10 PM in Leverett House JCR.  Pizza will be provided!  All are welcome!  Questions?  Contact John (souther@fas).

 

IV.  Iraq Debate - Thursday - Come support your fellow Republicans this Thursday at 8 PM as HRC and the Salient take on the Alliance for Justice in the Middle East, HCS Advocates for Human Rights, and Harvard Initiative for Peace and Justice in a debate over future U.S. involvement in Iraq.  Location TBA.   Questions?  Contact Daren (stanaway@fas).

 

V.  Borat Movie Outing - Saturday - Join your fellow HRC members to see Borat, a political comedy, at 7:45 PM this Saturday, November 11, at the Harvard Square Loews Theater.  We'll be meeting at 7:30 PM at the John Harvard statue to head over to the theater as a group.  RSVP to Carolyn Puente by this Wednesday, November 8, if you'd like to go.

 

VI.  HRC Executive Board Elections - November 15 - On Wednesday, November 15, HRC will be holding Executive Board elections.  The board positions and their descriptions can be found at http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/gop/constitution.html.  Remember, to vote and/or run in the election, you need to have paid your dues for this year and will need to have attended two General Board meetings in the past calendar year by the time of the election.  If you are unsure of whether you have paid your dues, please contact Jeff Kwong (jkwong@fas).  If you are unsure of how many board meetings you have attended, please contact Daren (stanaway@fas).  If you have any other questions about elections procedures, please contact Meghan (mgrizzle@fas).

 

VII.  Christina Martin Study Group - Thursday - Join Christina Martin, former Press Secretary to Newt Gingrich and former member of President George H.W. Bush's administration, for her study group this week at the IOP!  The study group meets weekly on Thursdays from 4-5:30 PM in IOP room L-166.  Contact Caleb (weatherl@fas) or Christine (mikolaj@fas) with questions.

 

VIII.  Pay Dues - To become a dues-paid member of the Harvard Republican Club, send a check for $5 made out to "Harvard Republican Club" via University Mail to Jeffrey Kwong, Winthrop Mail Center 264.  Be sure to include your name and e-mail address in the envelope.  Paying dues gets you a membership card, priority in our events, the right to vote in our elections, and other benefits.
