Graduate Student Advising and Treatment
The Graduate Student Council is focusing much-overdue attention on the
advising and proper treatment of graduate students. In the wake of the
tragic suicide of first-year graduate
student Hailei Ge and apparent
suicide of fifth-year student Jason Altom, it is clear that there
are substantial imperfections in the graduate student experience.
See the information below for just some of what the Graduate Student
Council is doing to address this most vital issue. Please feel free to
contact the GSC at gsc@hcs.harvard.edu to share your
experiences and to offer your suggestions for confronting this
challenge.
Harvard students interesting working on and discussion this issue in a
smaller forum are encouraged to join the Advising Task Force.
