Free Food Opportunities

As a graduate student, you'll quickly become familiar with the various intellectual and social opportunities, usually at Dudley House, to eat for free. For example, the Senior Common Room dinners at Dudley House add catered food to a scintillating talk by eminent Harvard professors, fellow graduate students, and members of the Dudley House Senior Common Room. Both the talks and the food are quite popular so get your ticket as soon as they're available. Carefully monitor the Dudley House section of the GSAS Bulletin to know when to sign up for these events. Outside of Dudley House, Havard itself is a place festering with intellectual talks; be on the watch for all sorts of talks, lectures, and symposia taking place on campus.

Participation in the Graduate School Student/Alumni Phone-a-thon each semester helps raise money for financial aid, grants, dissertation funding, and activities for GSAS students. Plus, you can earn $25, get a free catered dinner, and network with other GSAS students and alumni. Look for announcements in the GSAS Bulletin or call 496-6898 to sign up.

The House Office on the third floor of Dudley is also a great place to find a muffin or bagel left over from meetings held downstairs. Since you will often be in the building anyway to use the Library or Game Room, might as well stop by for a snack!
