- Announcements
- GSC Conference Grants:
Winter 1998 Recipients have been announced. The deadline for applications for Spring 1998 Conference Grants and Summer Research Grants is May 4.
- GSC Meeting with President Rudenstine, Provost Fineberg, Dean Wolff,
and Dean Gill: Monday, April 13, 1998. Please contact the GSC with your concerns or if you would like to attent.
- Student Interest Rates Going up? Not if another NAGPS lobby can prevent it. A House subcommittee is debating whether to repeal a legislated lowering in the interest rate for student loans. You can help get the student voice out!
- Next GSC Meeting: Wednesday, April 1st (No joke)

- Committee Updates
- Elections
- Treasurer Special Election: Laurie Littlepage (Medical Sciences) was elected Treasurer for the remainder of the academic year, ending on June 30.
- Nominations for 1998-99 GSC Officers and Committee Representatives
(elections will be held at the meeting on April 1st): Nominations will remain open until the election. Currently, the nominees are Nick Dechman (President) and Laurie Littlepage (Treasurer).
- Treasurer's Report

Laurie's first act as Treasurer was to submit the Current allocations and Budget as well as last month's student group request allocations.
- 1998
NAGPS Northeast Regional Conference at Harvard
. This conference, hosted by the Harvard GSC and organized by our own Elgin Eckert, will run March 13-15, 1998. Follow the link for more information.
- Advising and Treatment of Graduate Students
Both of these documents were presented to the GSC by Paul Callan. After discussion and a few minor changes, they were ratified unanimously.
- The Future of Hemenway Gymnasium
remains in the balance as the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid may not get the lease on its current location in Byerly Hall renewed. A plan to move these offices into Hemenway has been discussed, but nowhere near the approval stage.
