Order of Business
- Announcements
- GSC
Conference Grants: The last round of Conference Grants will be
award soon, as will the Summer Research Grants. The deadline for both
of these is May 4.
- GSC Meeting with President Rudenstine,
Provost Fineberg, Dean Wolff, and Dean Gill: Monday, April 13,
1998. All graduate students are invited to this meeting, which
will take place from 4:00-5:00pm in the Perkins Room of Massachusetts
Hall.
- Matters Arising
from the minutes
of March 1998 meeting.
- The 1998 NAGPS Northeast
Regional Conference was held at Harvard March 13-15. Representatives
from 15 universities attended. Highlights of the convention were
presentations by Dudley House's own Ellen Fox, Susan Zawalich, and
Garth McCavana, a workshop on the NAGPS legislative lobby, and a
mega-cool party at Tufts.
- The Statement of Graduate Student Rights was discussed at a recent
meeting of the GSC officers with Deans Wolff and Gill. After
revisions, this document will be presented to the Committee on
Graduate Education.
- Committee Updates
- The Committee on Graduate Education
(
CGE) has not met since the last meeting.
- Our graduate student representatives on the FAS Library Committee met
with the Science Librarian for Harvard College, and mentioned several
of the concerns voiced by Graduate Students.
- The Harvard Graduate
Council will have a Fun Run on Saturday, May 18 at the Harvard
Business School, beginning at 10:00am. Registration is $10 in advance
or $15 day-of-event. Proceeds will benefit Outdoor Explorations.
That very evening, the Frank Sinatra Martini Party will be held from 8:00pm-2:00am at the Playhouse, 36 Lansdowne Street. Tickets are $10.
