Hotel Reservations


We have reserved a limited number of rooms for the night of the 24th and 25th at the Harvard Square Hotel for a reduced group rate. Contact the Harvard Square Hotel directly at 617-491-2222 (Monday-Friday 8am-6pm) or email at reservations@theinnatharvard.com. Make sure to refer to the group name "Ivy Summit" and the group code 207123.

Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. The hotel will only reserve these rooms until September 25th. After September 25th, all unreserved rooms will be made available for general sale. When you call, please specify that you are from the "Ivy Summit" (group code 207123) to receive the reduced rate.

Driving Directions

Directions to the Harvard Square Hotel are available on their website. For more general directions to Harvard Square, please see the following:

From the East or West: take I-90, the Massachusetts Turnpike

  • From the Massachusetts Turnpike (Mass Pike - Rt. 90, East and Westbound), take Exit 18 (Allston?or Brighton/Cambridge).
  • Go through toll booth ($1.50) and bear right towards Cambridge, then get into far left lane at set of traffic lights.
  • At 2nd traffic light (before the bridge across from the Doubletree Guest Suite Hotel) turn left onto Storrow Drive/Soldiers Field Road; exit at Harvard Square.
  • Turn right to cross the bridge. You will be on JFK Street headed into Harvard Square.
From The South (I-93 North): Heading north on Route 93 take the Mass Pike. See above

From The North (I-93 South):

  • Heading south on Route 93, exit onto Storrow Drive west.
  • Take Harvard Square/Cambridge exit, turn right and proceed over bridge and across Memorial Drive onto JFK Street and into Harvard Square.
From Logan Airport: As you leave the airport, follow signs to Rt. 90, Mass. Turnpike West. See above.

Parking:

On-site parking available at the Harvard Square Hotel: $35 for overnight/24 hour parking, with in and out privileges; or $25 for day parking.

On-street parking is scarce in Cambridge, but there are several public parking lots and garages, as listed on the following map.

Public Transportation Directions

From Logan Airport

  • By subway (the "T"):
    • Take the SILVER Line (bus) to South Station.
    • Change to the RED LINE outbound (toward ALEWIFE), go six stops and get off at HARVARD SQUARE.
    • Subway fare is $2.00 cash or Charlie Ticket, or $1.75 with a Charlie Card.
  • By taxi: The ride to Harvard Square takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Typically, the ride from Logan Airport to Harvard Square costs about $35-40.

From South Station (Bus/Train)

  • By subway:
    • Take the RED LINE toward ALEWIFE from South Station six stops to HARVARD SQUARE.
    • Subway fare is $2.00 cash or Charlie Ticket, or $1.75 with a Charlie Card.

From North Station (Train)

  • By subway:
    • Take the GREEN LINE to Park Street Station.
    • Change to the RED LINE toward ALEWIFE, go four stops and get off at HARVARD SQUARE .
  • Subway fare is $2.00 cash or Charlie Ticket, or $1.75 with a Charlie Card.

Directions to the Harvard Square Hotel from the Harvard Square subway ("T") station:

  • Take the main set of escalators out of the station concourse. The station is located at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Brattle Street.
  • Follow Brattle Street to Mount Auburn Street.
  • Turn right onto Mount Auburn Street. The Harvard Square Hotel is located at 110 Mount Auburn Street.

Dudley House

The 2008 Ivy Summit will largely place in Harvard University's Dudley House; the center at Harvard University for students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a small community of undergraduates. Dudley House is home to the Café Gato Rojo, the Dudley Café, several meeting rooms, a game room, and a library and is the primary location for activities organized by Dudley Fellows for GSAS students and other Dudley Members. Dudley is located in Lehman Hall, at the southwest corner of Harvard Yard nearest the Harvard Square subway (?T?) stop. The Prudential Center

Friday night's dinner will be held in downtown Boston's Prudential Center on the Skywalk Observatory (http://www.prudentialcenter.com/shop/shop_detail.php?id=64). Conference attendees are encouraged to use public transportation ? registration packets include a round-trip subway ticket ? and GSC members will be on hand to lead small groups for those interested.

Subway ("T") info:

MBTA buses, commuter trains and the Green and Orange subway lines are all within a five-minute walk from Prudential Center. A climate-controlled walkway from Back Bay Station through Copley Place to Prudential Center protects pedestrians from the environment.

From Harvard Square, take the RED LINE inbound. At PARK STREET change to the GREEN LINE westbound (away from Lechmere).

  • For 'E' trains only, please use Prudential Station on Huntington Avenue.
  • For all other Green Line trains (B,C, D), please use Copley Station on Boylston Street at Dartmouth Street (next to the Boston Public Library) or Hynes Convention Center Station on Massachusetts Avenue at Newbury Street.

From Harvard Square, take the RED LINE inbound. At DOWNTOWN CROSSING change to the ORANGE Line (Forest Hills direction). Get off at Back Bay Station.

Driving:

  • Directions From the Harvard Square Hotel, head east on Mount Auburn St (0.5mi). Continue on Massachusetts Ave (2.1mi). Continue past MIT and across the bridge into Boston. Turn left at Boylston st. The Prudential Center will be on your right side.
