Currier House
Computer Science
Class of 2012
Hey guys! I'm a junior in Currier house studying computer science. I have always been a huge fan of going on habitat builds, and this year I am particularly excited to increase my involvement in this incredible organization by serving as Co-Director. Outside of Habitat I am a brother in Sigma Chi, and I work as a teaching fellow for CS 51.

Nicole Kholodnov, Co-Director

Hola! I'm Nicole, a sophomore in Mather House, concentrating in social studies, with a secondary in Global Health and a citation in French. I'm the Co-Director for Habitat this year! In my hometown, Raleigh, I was able to start a Habitat branch and get a ton of people involved in our bimonthly builds; it was awesome! This year, I'm really excited to be participating in a Spring Break trip. I can't wait to be getting more people involved in this AWESOME cause!!

Julia Paltseva, Fundraising Chair
jupa1089@gmail.com

My name is Julia and I'm a junior in Leverett studying OEB. I'll be this year's Fundraising Coordinator and am SO thrilled to help out Habitat. I went on the J-term trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras and did a local weekend build last year. The best part about Habitat for Humanity is how personal the experience is and how tangible the difference you're making is not only for the family, but for the entire community. In my spare time, I climb rocks, tutor kids, speak Russian and build houses. Feel free to join me!

Richard Sima, Domestic Trips Coordinator
sima@fas.harvard.edu

Hi! I'm Richard, a junior concentrating in Neurobiology through the Mind, Brain, and Behavior track. As a volunteer with Habitat, I've gone to Cape Fear, NC and had the chance to lead a trip to Lexington, KY. This J-term, I'll be leading another trip to Jacksonville, FL. I've really enjoyed building houses, working with fellow volunteers, and meeting the families that we help out. Outside of Habitat, I'm co-directing another PBHA service organization, the Harvard ExperiMentors, fighting fruit flies at the Kravitz neurobiology lab, and organizing seminars with the Harvard Society for Mind, Brain, and Behavior. I'm also quite fond of wasting time exploring the Internet, wasting time playing old-school video games, and cheese.

Currier House
History & History of Art and Architecture
In addition to Habitat for Humanity, I am involved with PBHA in several other capacities: as a volunteer with the ExperiMentors and Marshall After School programs, as a director of the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, and as the 2011 PBHA Officer for housing and advocacy programs. I am also involved with the IOP as a member of the Student Advisory Committee, the Community Action Committee, CIVICS, and the National Campaign Committee. I am an editor on the Harvard Crimson and the Harvard Yearbook, a peer-reviewer for The Harvard Undergraduate Research Journal, a member of the Harvard Democrats, and an Intramural sports captain for Currier House. For work, I coach after school soccer and teach as a Course Assistant in the Harvard Math Department. In my free time, I've been known to run a marathon or two...
I love Habitat because of all the amazing people involved and the wonderful work we get to do together (also, they trust me with power-tools!)

Rachel Field, Spring Break Trip Leader
jacob_cedarbaum@comcast.net

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel, and I'm a junior living in the stunningly beautiful modern architecture that is Currier House. I grew up in sunny Huntington Beach, California, but came to Boston to experience all the excitement of having four seasons; unfortunately, no one warned me that Boston is 55% winter and 45% all those other seasons. I'm concentrating in mechanical engineering, and I really want to design cool things when I grow up. When I'm not doing habitat things, I'm a representative on the UC, a deejee at the Harvard radio station (WHRB!), and a Peer Advising Fellow, along with a member of the C-HAUS hoco. Outside of the Harvard bubble, I love biking, playing tennis, and traveling...my goal is to visit every continent: I still have to go to Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. I'm super passionate about Habitat because I love working alongside community members to improve a neighborhood and to change a family's life. Last year, I was on the Habitat Spring Break trip to Georgia. This year, I am one of the trip leaders for the Habitat Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, in addition being the Habitat Board secretary. GO HABITAT!

Nic Galat, Weekend Trip Coordinator
ngalat@college.harvard.edu

Hi everyone! I'm Nic, a rising junior in Quincy House. I am concentrating in Statistics, and I am also pursuing a language citation in Korean. I was fortunate enough to volunteer on an amazing two-week build in San Pedro Sula, Honduras this past J-term, and I am thrilled to be the Weekend Trips Coordinator for this year's board! Outside of Habitat, I love distance running and leading tours of Harvard as an active member of the Crimson Key Society. I hope to see you all on this year's weekend builds!

I spent quite a bit of time in high school volunteering, and habitat is another great way to give back to the local community and to give people a fresh start.
