Joanna Parga, Co-Director
parga@fas.harvard.edu

I am a resident in Eliot House and a senior concentrator in Biological Anthropology. I have been working with Habitat for Humanity since freshman year after a spring break trip to Rivas, Nicaragua. As director, one of my primary goals will be campus outreach and trying to get the Harvard campus excited about joining this dynamic and influential program. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you have about our student-run organization. To give you a little more background on myself, I work for professors at the Kennedy School of Government and Peabody Museum and am studying gender and sex hormones.

Christine Fitzgerald, Co-Director
cfitzger@fas.harvard.edu

Chrissy is a senior in Dunster House concentrating in Government. She has been involved in Habitat since high school and is very excited to be directing this semester, as well as leading Harvard Habitat’s first ever trip to Africa. Chrissy also directs the Mainly Jazz Dance Company, for which she choreographs and performs each semester, and is proud to be choreographing Chicago, which goes up in the Ag this spring. In her spare time, Chrissy likes to travel anywhere and everywhere, watch movies, sunbathe by the Charles, and start dance parties in random locations.

Swapna Reddy, Co-Director
screddy@fas.harvard.edu

Hi. My name is Swapna Reddy. I love Habitat for Humanity, but I hate flakes like Rajiv. I don't know why they let him on the board. Jeez... Anyways, I am the type of Ec concentrator that can't stand Wall Street, and quite frankly I'd rather be building shelters in a village than building portfolios in a cubicle. That's just me. Don't get me wrong. I'm not hating at all the brilliant people who are choosing to spend their time crunching numbers 100 hours a week. It's just not me. But I hate Raj. He's worthless... (This blurb was written by Rajiv)

Marisa Flavin, Co-Director
flavin@fas.harvard.edu

I am a senior in Pforzheimer House and am Co-Director with Chrissy and Jo. I am in charge of Domestic trips. Last intercession, I led a trip to Jackson, Mississippi to build a house for a displaced victim of hurricane Katrina. In my free time, I like to watch endless episodes of the Gilmore Girls, eat Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, and take long walks on the each with Ali. Come to see me if you have questions about going on a domestic spring break trip or organizing a spring break trip for your specific group.

Denise Delaney, Secretary
ddelaney@fas.harvard.edu

Hi! I’m Denise, a junior in Lowell House, now serving as Secretary. I study social anthropology with a focus on Latin America. I’ve been an international trip participant (Costa Rica), a member of the Jackson, Mississippi intercession trip, and a board member. I am also leading a spring break trip (March ’06) to Tegucigalpa, Honduras this year. Outside of Habitat, I am involved with both Harvard Model United Nations conferences, and I volunteer in East Boston.

Nathan Sharp, Treasurer
nsharp@fas.harvard.edu

Nathan Sharp is a junior from Owensboro, KY and is concentrating in Social Studies. He has been a part of Habitat for Humanity for two years and currently serves as Treasurer. Outside of Habitat, Nathan stays busy as an editor for the Harvard International Review and a monkey feeder for the William James Hall Psychology Labs. Anyone with questions concerning our finances should feel free to contact Nathan at nsharp@fas.harvard.edu.

Mihir Sheth, Treasurer
sheth@fas.harvard.edu

Mihir Sheth is a senior concentrating in Economics. Apart from going to Costa Rica last summer and having an awesome time, he will be going to Botswana this summer on Harvard Habitat’s first trip to Africa. He also plays on the Harvard Men’s Squash Team and is interested in sports and traveling. Finally, Mihir is defensive about the Delphic and the homestays of the said establishment and others like it.

Rajiv Venkataramanan, Social Chair
rvenkat@fas.harvard.edu

Rajiv is a sophomore Social Studies concentrator known for pouring beer from his third-floor Mather window and his heart-felt apologies the morning after one of his parties has ravaged Lowell dining hall. Serving his first term on Habitat’s board as the resident “Crunk Baron,” Raj has since assumed the more respectable position of Social Chair. Able to pull in multiple grand from a one-night “re-crunkulous party” party, Raj can always be counted on to show Habitat members a good time. (This blurb was written by Swapna)

Mark LeBel, Fundraising Chair
lebel@fas.harvard.edu

Mark LeBel is an applied math and economics concentrator from the Class of 2007. Mark comes from Ipswich, Massachusetts and has previously participated in Summer Habitat. Ali Giese, Co-Special Events Manager
agiese@fas.harvard.edu

Hey! My name is Ali Geise, and I am a junior EPS concentrator in Pforzheimer House. Although I’ve been involved with building projects in Honduras and Mexico through other organizations, my involvement with Harvard Habitat began this past intercession with I participated on a trip to Jackson, Mississippi. I now hold the position of Co-Special Events Manger. I’m also involved in singing and theater groups on campus. I’m looking forward to an exciting year!

Helene Nguyen, Domestic Spring Break Trip Leader and Director Emeritus
htnguyen@fas.harvard.edu

I’m Helene, Director Emeritus and currently a domestic spring break trip leader to Myrtle Beach, North Caroline. I have been on the board since fall of 2003. I took a year off in 2004, during which I worked as a full-time case worker for Rosie’s Place’s permanent housing program for women and moonlighted as a Starbucks barista extraordinaire. I still work part-time at both Starbucks and Rosie’s, but my heart and soul still belong to Habitat.
