There's only one place at Harvard where concentrators in government, economics, social studies, history, East Asian studies, and the natural and applied sciences come together to study Asia and Oceania; where political forecasters and cultural anthropologists exchange ideas across the Mekong, the Yangtze, and the Ganges; and where both freshmen and seniors come face-to-face with heads of state, leading theorists, and controversial figures...

The Harvard Asia Pacific Review is Harvard's premier journal featuring the major issues of the Asia-Pacific region. Written by leaders and scholars like former PRC President Jiang Zemin, architect I.M. Pei, Goldman Sachs Asia chief economist Kenneth S. Courtis, and Burmese freedom fighter and Nobel Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, each biannual issue of the completely undergraduate-produced Review brings a variety of topics to its international readership. Now in its ninth year, the Review continues to enhance the understanding of present conditions while framing a larger perspective of this dynamic region.

If you're looking to work closely and personally with some of the world's leading Asia scholars, leaders, and practitioners, there's a place for you on the editorial board. Led by the managing editors, the board selects the topics most relevant to the region to be featured in the journal and is responsible for the content that is solicited directly from change agents and researchers from around the world.

Managing the financial matters of an international journal comes first for the business team, which you can help develop innovative strategies to reach out to new advertisers and business partners. Working with customers like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch, ExxonMobil, and Anheuser-Busch, you'll gain valuable first-hand experience as you maintain the financial health of the Review through ads, grants, and private contributions.

The Review's trademark sleek, glossy pages are the work of the design team, which takes edited content and transforms it into the final product. As a designer, you'll keep the publication looking fresh and updated with the latest trends in layout, merging text, graphics, and visual appeal. Working with a variety of media, your creativity and fresh ideas will be central to the journal's success.

A publication cannot exist without its readers; as part of the circulation desk, you'll ensure that every reader of the Review has a copy of the latest issue. Managing a database of subscribers spanning five continents, you can collaborate with the business team to coordinate subscriptions, as well as look for new markets in which to expand the journal's readership, which includes individuals, organizations, institutions, and governments.

Reaching out to the world through the Web is the responsibility of the web board. You can maintain the content and layout of the Review's website, respond to electronic inquiries and comments from readers, and coordinate online databases for the rest of the staff. Your work on the web board in promoting the Review makes it possible for the other departments to do theirs.
