Term-time Volunteer Application

Mission Statement:

Phillips Brooks House Association

Our program's mission is to provide instrumental and vocal instruction for children in the Cambridge Public Schools. Through our efforts, we aim to provide musical guidance and to foster musical appreciation in supplement to the musical education received in school. We target children who would especially benefit from individual or group musical instruction because they would otherwise be unable to afford private music lessons. We also run an after school program to give younger students a first exposure to music of all genres.

HARMONY is one of PBHA's 70+ volunteer programs:

"PBHA is a student-run, staff supported public service/social action organization at Harvard College providing a variety of services to the Greater Boston community. PBHA is often called "the best course at Harvard." For more than a century PBHA programs have provided vital experiences for generations of leaders in service and activism, simultaneously developing real, meaningful community partnerships."
