Welcome to the HCHS!

The Harvard College Hellenic Society seeks to bring students of Greek descent together to share Greek culture with the larger Harvard community. By hosting educational, social, and cultural events on campus, HCHS aims to provide a community for students of Greek descent and Greek nationals while sharing the exciting culture and providing a forum for Greek discourse with all of Harvard's students.

Weekly brunch will resume in September 2014.

2014 Harvard Innovation for Greece Conference

The inaugural Harvard Innovation for Greece Conference, organized by the Harvard College Hellenic Society, that took place on April 26th, 2014 in Harvard Hall of Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA.

The keynote speaker for the event was Professor James Robinson. Prof. Robinson is the David Florence Professor of Government at Harvard University and a faculty associate at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science and the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. His main research interests are in comparative economic and political development. Prof. Robinson is also the co-author of the recently published "Why Nations Fail" - a book analyzing political theories that have a promising application to the case of Greece.

The two student entrepreneurs were Stephen Liapis (Harvard University Molecular and Cellular Biology Ph.D. Candidate) representing New Century Biosolutions and Eugene Vaios (Harvard College 2014, Harvard Medical School 2018) representing Khan Academy Greek.

We were delighted to also welcome SKAI TV journalist and fellow Harvard graduate (GSAS '09), Ms. Sylvia Klimaki, who covered the event on behalf of the major Greek news agency, SKAI.
