HGSCC and the MIT Canadian Club are hosting a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner on Monday, 12 October 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Dudley Dining Hall (Lehman Hall, right across from the Harvard T-stop and in the Yard). Thanks to our wonderful volunteer chefs, we will have plenty of turkey, vegetables, mashed potatoes, and desserts!

Our annual Fall Welcome BBQ is set for Thursday, 10 September 2009 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on the Richards Hall lawn, across from Harkness Commons. We'll provide the food (veggie options available) and the drinks. You bring your Canadian smiles. See you on the lawn in red and white!

It's a Poutine Party! Get your fill of french fries, gravy and cheese curds at the Graduate Student Lounge (2nd floor mezzanine of Dudley House) on Thursday, 2 April 2009 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!

The HGSCC 10th Annual Curling Bonspiel is happening on Saturday, 7 February 2009 at Petersham Curling Club! We will be leaving campus around 1:00 p.m. and return by 9:30 p.m., sated from an afternoon of curling lessons, curling matches, dinner and Canadian company. E-mail hgscc-owner@lists.hcs.harvard.edu to register - we only have spots for 29 people. The cost of the trip is $20, but if you have a car and can drive yourself and at least three other people, you get to go for free! See you on the ice!

The Harvard College Canadian Club is hosting a Remembrance Day service at 10:45 a.m. on the steps of Memorial Church (Old Yard). Poppies are available for pick-up in the HGSCC mailbox, 3rd floor of Dudley House. They will also be available at the service. See you there!

The first Canadian Movie Night will be happening at William James Hall, Room 105 from 7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. We will be screening Tales from the Gimli Hospital (1988) directed by Guy Maddin! A brief synopsis and review of the film are on the events page.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for the Canadian Thanksgiving dinner tonight! Thank you especially to the amazing cooks who contributed such a diverse range of delicious food, and the wonderful people who helped set up and clean up after the event.
We will be sending out an e-mail shortly regarding reimbursements for cooks, and we hope to see you all tomorrow night at the Canada Elections Results Viewing!

Monday, 13 September 2008 from 6:00 p.m. onwards, the Canadian Thanksgiving dinner will be held at Dudley House Dining Hall (Lehman Hall, near the Harvard T stop). We are currently seeking chefs who can roast a turkey, make a salad, whip together some cranberry sauce, or create any other festive dish. Please contact Alison Hill or Stephanie Tam if you can share your gourmet skills!
Tuesday, 14 September 2008 from 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., join the Harvard Canadian Law Society for the Canada Elections Results Viewing at Cambridge Queen's Head (45 Quincy Street, underneath Memorial Hall). Scintillating political discussions over some pub fare will be the order of the day.

Due to the weather on the weekend, the Welcome BBQ has been moved to Saturday, 4 October 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Richards Hall lawn. In case of another bout of rain, we will relocate to the Richards Hall basement. Sorry for the changes, and hope to see you all there!

Mark your calendars! Saturday, 27 September 2008 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. the Richards Hall lawn (between Harkness Commons and the GSAS dorms) will be red and white for our Welcome BBQ. Canadian Harvard graduate students and friends, meat-lovers and vegetarian/vegans alike, are all welcome to come!
