The Harvard Health Policy Society (HHPS) is a student organization founded on campus during the summer of 1997 that strives to fill a niche at Harvard College formerly left untouched. HHPS endeavors to bring together students to discuss current issues in health policy and health care. Because health policy is essentially multidisciplinary, we hope to attract students from a wide array of concentrations: HHPS is not solely directed towards premedical students. Our main goals are to provide a forum for the discussion of current issues in health care and to serve as an educational resource for students and the community at large. Each fall, HHPS hosts the Health Care Career Fair, attended by a wide range of companies with vested interests in health care (Genzyme, Health Advances, The Lewin Group, etc.), and invites speakers from various fields who give insight into one of the most intriguing and complex issues of our time. HHPS also publishes the Harvard Health Policy Review -- a semi-annual journal dedicated to broadening awareness of health policy issues. Comprised of top-notch articles by undergraduates, graduates, professors, and independent professionals covering a comprehensive spectrum of health policy issues, the HHPR is designed to be accessible to audiences with different degrees of familiarity with the subject. The HHPR is supported by the Interfaculty Initiative in Health Policy and advised by a Board of Advisors comprised of professors in the fields of Medicine, Economics, and Government.
