What must HIPJ members believe?
There is no requisite set of principles for HIPJ or for the
peace movement; we are individuals each driven by our own beliefs
to decide that the current war(s) being propagated by the US are
wrong. Everyone has his/her own reasons for opposing this war,
and this diversity of beliefs bolsters the movement.
Who's in charge of HIPJ anyway?
We operate under a non-hierarchical task-oriented structure,
which means nobody is in charge, but we still get things done.
If you're looking to contact somebody "in charge", email
hipj@hcs (i.e. hcs.harvard.edu) and somebody
will respond.
How many members does HIPJ have?
There are about 550 people on our weekly announcement
email list, and about 100 people on our planning email
list. Usually about 20 people come to our weekly meetings.
We appreciate any friendly help to increase these numbers!
Is it "HIPJ" or "the HIPJ" or what?
It's just HIPJ, [ HIP - jay ]. And the members? We're
HIPJers. And what about the peace movement in general?
We might be peaceniks. And what do we call our opponents?
Often, warmongers.
Does HIPJ have money? Does it need more?
We do have a bit of money, which we mainly use for publicity
and events. We do indeed need money, and we appreciate any donations
or grant opportunities.
For more details, contact the treasurer on the
contact page.
