	[Prior to the start of racing, the Severn River course was
	determined by the coaches to be unsafe due to high winds and surf. 
	The regatta was relocated to nearby Chestertown, and run as part
	of an ongoing local regatta.  This relocation allowed the crews to
	race nearly 2000 meters in near-biblical conditions. The 3V and 2F
	races were cancelled after the swamping of several crews competing
	in the concurrent local regatta. -eds.]
