Biblical conditions: raging headwind ripped the stakeboats from their
moorings, so the races were off a somewhat suspect floating start. A
strong following current opposed the wind, creating massive chop.

NB: In the 1V race, the Harvard shell's  self-steering mechanism broke
off the first start. The race was restarted with a makeshift rig, but the
boat did not run straight for more than a few strokes at a time; Harvard
was warned for veering into Princeton's lane a few times.
