Alumni
We invite all alumni to sign up for the new Google Group for Harvard Lightweight Alumni. Besides serving as a convenient way to get in touch your fellow HVL Alumni, you'll be able to get announcements about upcoming alumni racing opportunities, including regattas in I-Lan, Taiwan, Waseda, Japan, San Diego, and the Head of the Charles. Email Eric Davis or Jonathan Kibera for more information. Also, visit the group homepage here.
We are always interested in hearing from alums; get in touch with us if you have any comments or questions regarding the program or upcoming races.
And some of you thought it would never happen . . . Charley is now on-line and net-literate. Drop him a line and say hello.
Blade on the Feather, the alumni magazine, is now available on-line. The schedule for the upcoming season should be posted here. As always, if your schedule coincides with ours, you are welcome to come watch the action (contact us for more information).
In honor of former HVL coach Steve Gladstone, and to commemorate his long reign atop the EARC, the lightweight crews of 1969-1971 have donated a Resolute Racing Shell to the program. This shell was raced by the 1996-8 varsity crews with great success - it has never placed worse than second - and that only twice, at the 1996 'Sprints and Nationals. HVL deeply appreciates this generous gift. The boat has been nicknamed "Sue."
In addition joining the Google Group above, you are invited to either sign in or view the Lightweight Alumni Email Database. If you know the Email addresses of other Lightweight Alums, please send them to us.
Finally, if you have any old
photographs of your crew in action, please mail them in to us; we'd like to
scan them in. While we're especially interested in pictures from a few decades
ago, any good shots that you have would be well appreciated. So, dig out that
dusty photo of your eight winning the Sprints and send it in. . . .
(Here's the original overhead black and white
photo, colorized above, of Iver Peterson's HVL '62 crew.)
If you don't
have access to a scanner, you can mail photos to:

We will, of course, return any photos.
