Auditions are held once a year, a few days before classes begin in the fall. Details will be posted on the home page of our website near the end of the summer, and you can always e-mail us (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. You can sign up for auditions online on the "Audition" page. Auditions are 6 minutes long (although you should prepare at least 10 minutes of music) and you can play anything you'd like. Our conductor, Maestro Federico Cortese, holds all the auditions and likes to hear different elements of playing, so it's usually best to choose pieces with fast, technical spots as well as slow, lyrical sections. You should prepare parts of at least two pieces totaling at least 10 minutes. And relax: no scales or sight-reading.
