Now in Theaters!
Our current show is the tale of a genie that has lost his way, overly absorbed in the flashiness of his own powers and not caring enough about the true role of a genie: helping the people of the village by granting wishes. As punishment for his insolence, the genie's teacher takes away his powers. Despondent, our hero takes to the streets of the village, convinced that he is worthless without showy spells at his disposal.
The outlook changes, though, when a cheery monkey enters the genie's life and teaches him how to care for, and help, other people. Along the way, the reformed genie assists a snake charmer, a tiger, a sultan, and a fortuneteller, all in distress. By the end of the show, order is restored as the genie learns what it means to be a great genie, and, in turn, a good friend.
The roles, costuming, and set of the play draw upon the Arabian Nights collection of stories for inspiration. When we arrive at a hospital for a performance, our mission is to transform the playroom into a place far removed from the confines of Massachusetts - a mystical place far away in the desserts of Arabia that the kids can enjoy watching.
