Harvard University Cycling Association Funding
The Harvard University Cycling Association (HUCA) is both a racing team and a recreational club. Our club introduces students to the sport of cycling and allows new and advanced riders to work on skills and develop technique for both racing and recreational riding. In the springtime, our team competes in the 8-week Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference racing season. Our top racers attend the National Collegiate Cycling Championships in May.

Sustained by the continuing generosity of our Supporters, HUCA has grown from 16 racers in 2000 to over 125 students in 2005. In 2002, the team won the ECCC and Ivy League Championships, came in 9th at the National Championships and was recognized by USA Cycling with a USACDF Center of Excellence award as one of the best-run collegiate clubs in the country.

We could not have accomplished these goals without the help of our Supporters. Harvard University does not support HUCA as a NCAA sport. The vast majority of our budget comes from private donations and corporate support. Cycling and bike racing are expensive pursuits, but we do not wish for anyone to be barred from bike racing due to financial costs. To this end, HUCA covers race fees, transportation, and hotels for our student racers for the entire collegiate season. This is made possible by the generous contributions of our Supporters.
