Advising Committee
The Advising Committee oversees HUEA's peer advising program and organizes various advising events throughout the year. By and large, these events are geared toward helping undergraduate concentrators in economics figure out what to do and how to navigate the department. Past events have included: mixers for the Mentors and Mentees; panels featuring students with interesting summer experiences, ranging from working with an NGO in Latin America to interning at the SEC in Washington D.C.; alternative careers panels featuring economists, policymakers, and entrepreneurs; and panels on graduate school.
Communications Committee
Regardless of concentration and year in school, the HUEA firmly believes that there is much to be gained from an appreciation and understanding of economics. Therefore, the Communications Committee aims to promote HUEA events to students throughout the Harvard community so that individuals are aware of opportunities to further their extracurricular relationship to economics. Our duties include managing the organization's publicity, maintaining a Facebook group and this website, sending out meeting agendas, and attending Office of Career Services meetings for business clubs.
Events Committee
The Events Committee aims to provide the opportunity for students to get to know the Economics Department through dinners and other events. We host casual dinners with Economics Professors throughout the semester, and a larger catered dinner event each semester. We hope you can join us at our next event!
Outreach Committee
The Outreach committee seeks to foster economics education and interest in the wider community. The committee’s flagship event is the Harvard Pre-Collegiate Economics Challenge (HPEC), an economics competition for high school students held each spring.
