Joining the TeamInformation SessionsIf you are enthusiastic for international issues and are interested in finding out more about the team, come to these exciting events in the fall: -- Visit the Harvard ICMUN booth at the freshman activities fair -- Visit the IRC (International Relations Council) Model UN info session in the fall. -- Participate in Model Security Council, a one-day Model UN simulation that will give you a feel for what Model UN is like, as well as a chance to meet other students with similar interests.> The Application ProcessThere is an application process to become a member of the Harvard ICMUN team. The process is not difficult to complete and should not, by any means, deter you from applying. For the 2009-2010 season, we anticipate adding approximately 25 to 30 members to the existing team. Our application will be available on this website's home page and information will be available at Model Security Council. The application consists of simple questions about your background involvement in international relations, Model UN, and debate. There is also a short essay related to current international affairs. Prior experience with Model UN or debate is **not** a prerequisite for applying for membership with the team. A lot of members used to be involved in Model Congress, debate, or forensics, but many did not have prior experience of this kind at all. A desire to work with the team, interest in international relations, and a willingness to learn the basic conventions of Model UN are most important. The deadline for submission of the application will be September 16, 2009. Applications will be submitted via e-mail to harvardmunapp@gmail.com. After you have turned in your application, you'll be required to sign up for an interview with the head delegates. Decisions will be posted shortly after the completion of the interviews. We are looking forward to meeting you! ![]() |
