I took a year off on a Fulbright scholarship to Taiwan to do translational
research in the field of hepatology. The Fulbright is a GREAT way to go...
almost complete freedom in terms of expenditures and prerequisites. The
National Taiwan University Medical School is very modern and up-to-date,
so my research experience was fabulous. I was eventually able to publish.
Taiwan was a fantastic cultural experience. Most people speak some level
of English, so its okay if your Mandarin is not fluent. I'd highly
recommend going! |
