Welcome!

The Harvard Korean Association (HKA) is a Korean cultural student organization for undergraduates at the Harvard College. Established in 1998, with the merging of smaller Korean organizations, KA today is the largest umbrella organization that serves as an ambassador of the Korean and Korean American community at Harvard. Its central mission is to promote awareness about social, political, and cultural issues regarding Korea. All students are welcome to join– whether it is to find a tight-knit community, connect on the basis of Korean heritage, or to simply learn more about different aspects of Korea.

Currently, KA consists of a twelve-member Executive Board and over 200 general members. The membership and its diversity continue to grow every year. The organization also serves as a key liaison connecting other Korea-related organizations on campus, such as the Korean International Student Association (KISA), Human Rights in North Korea (HRinK), Harvard College Korean Adoptee Mentorship Program (HCKAMP), and the Korea Institute.

What do we do?

To achieve its mission, KA throws a wide range of events throughout the year. To better educate the public, we hold events about historical and contemporary issues from prospects of a reunified Korea to the beauty-obsessed culture of plastic surgery in Korea. Our annual culture show combines an array of traditional fan dan and K-pop and boasts talent among our students. Through our "Kimchi Family" program, we try to foster a family-like community of students who are interested in Korean culture. Lastly, we collaborate with various organizations on- and off-campus like Asian American Alliance (AAA), Chinese Student Association (CSA), Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) and Asian American Brotherhood (AAB) to further our aim.
