The Harvard-Radcliffe Kendo Club (HRKC) is dedicated to the practice, study, and promotion of the Japanese art of kendo. One of the oldest collegiate kendo clubs in North America, our organization is composed of undergraduates, graduate students, and other Harvard affiliates. Our head coach is Professor Fumio Ueda, a 7-dan kyoshi from Keio University, Japan.
We always welcome new members from the Harvard community. No prior experience in any martial art is necessary! In fact, almost all current members never studied a martial art before joining the HRKC.
We will be holding beginner practices throughout the semester on Thursday evenings in the Malkin Athletic Center's second floor mezzanine. No experience or equipment needed; just come in comfortable gym clothes!
