MICHAEL A. CHASSON, Head Coach

Beginning his fourth season as head coach of the Harvard men's swim team ... Has led Crimson to Eastern Championship title in each of his first three seasons ... Also directed Harvard to 1993 EISL title ... Owner of a 25-5 mark in dual meets and is 23-4 vs. League opponents ... Has coached six NCAA All-Americans at Harvard ... Was head coach for the 1993 Maccabiah Games and assistant coach for the 1993 Pan Pacific Meet ... Coach of 1992 Olympian Jill Johnson (200 breaststroke), and traveled with her to Barcelona ... Prior to coming to Harvard, was an assistant women's coach at Stanford, a position he had held since 1988 ... While at Stanford, worked under 1988 Olympic coach Richard Quick ... Coached the Cardinal's sprinters and breaststrokers ... While at Stanford, coached four NCAA Champions and 12 swimmers who placed in the top eight at NCAAs ... Was the head swim coach at the Santa Barbara (CA) Swim Club from 1980 until 1988 ... While there, worked with swimmers who ranged from novice competitors to Olympic finalists ... Coached Richard Schroeder, who won the Olympic Trials in the 100 breaststroke and was a gold medalist in the 400 medley relay at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul ... A 1974 graduate of Stanford, where he earned a BA in political science ...Experienced coach at all levels of competition ... A native of Los Altos Hills, CA.


DAVID C. FLOCCO, Assistant Coach

Starting his second season on the Harvard staff ... Also Senior Team coach for the Mass Bay Marlins ... Served as men's and women's assistant coach at Boston University from 1990 until 1992, and Senior Team coach for the Bernal's Gator Swim Club from 1989 until 1992 ... Was interim competitive swim director at the Darien (CT) YMCA during the 1992-93 Short Course Season ... Served as head coach of the boys and girls swim programs at Darien High School ... In two seasons at Darien, he led his teams to two State Championships and produced 13 All-Conference, 12 All-State, and four NISCA All-America athletes ... 1990 graduate of Boston University with majors in political science and American history ... In 1992, graduated from the Boston University Graduate School of Education, where he received a Master's degree in secondary education ... Captain of the 1989-90 Boston University men's swim team ... A native of Weston, CT ... Currently resides in downtown Boston.


KEITH MILLER, Diving Coach

In his fourth season as a member of the Harvard coaching staff ... Coaches both men's and women's programs ... Produced six scoring divers at the 1994 Eastern Championships ... Took Craig Narveson '94 to the 1994 U.S. Indoor Championships, where he placed 15th on 3-meter ... Selected to coach at the 1994 US Olympic Festival ... Prior to his appointment at Harvard, was the diving coach at Wesleyan University (CT) and at Cal-San Diego ... Part of Harvard and National Team coach John Walker's staff from 1981 until 1985 ... A 1982 graduate of Tufts University, with a degree in Spanish literature.


JOSHUA T. STERN, Volunteer Assistant

Beginning his second season on the Harvard staff...Served as women's assistant coach at Wellesley College (1992-93), and Senior Team assistant coach and Age Group coach for the New England Barracudas (1992-93)...1992 graduate of the University of Rochester where he majored in English...Trained under nationally recognized stroke technition Bill Boomer...1988 graduate of the Peddie School, where he trained for present Univ. of Florida coach Chris Martin...Captained 1991-92 Rochester men's swim team...Voted MVP and Most Inspirational swimmer on Yellowjackets' squad in both 1991 and 1992...An enthusiastic and energetic coach with a strong technical background.
