Chamber Music Repertoire

This page is primarily intended to help MIHNUET chamber groups find and select music to prepare for performances.  Arranged by ensemble type (piano trio, string quartet, wind quintet, etc.) the following page contains lists of pieces available for loan within the Harvard University library system (primarily the Loeb Music Library and Morse Music Library at Hilles) potentially suitable for a health setting.  The lists include piece title, composer, library call number, and where available, difficulty rating, and brief comments.  This is still a work in progress, as not all of the pieces listed have necessarily been heard by the author of this list.

Difficulty rating scale:
    1 - sightreadable (on the spot)
    2 - performable with one prior read through
    3 - individual parts relatively sightreadable, performable with a few
           rehearsals
    4 - difficult individual parts, but relatively easy to put together as an
           ensemble
    5 - presentable with a few weeks individual practice and rehearsals
    6 - requires extensive preparation by experienced performers
