Audition Times
Welcome Class of 2015! Auditions for the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 concert cycles are now concluded. If you are interested in auditioning for the next concert cycle, please e-mail MSO President Eric Chen (ericchen@fas.harvard.edu) for more information.

Audition Requirements
- A solo work of your choice, up to five minutes. This could be a part of a concerto, sonata, or a solo passage from a major orchestral work. Two contrasting excerpts are preferred (can be from the same work as long as they differ in tempi, mood, etc.). Great news - no scales and no sight-reading!
- A form detailing your musical and leadership experience, if you are also auditioning for a string principal position. This form will be available when you check in for your audition.
MSO holds auditions at beginning of the fall semester and again at the beginning of spring semester. Auditions are open to all musicians in the Harvard community.
New members wishing to join the orchestra and new or returning members who wish to auditions for a string principal positions will have auditions in the Music Building. Non-principal string players do not have to re-audition every year once they are accepted. Wind and percussion players, since they rotate parts all year, are also exempt from re-auditioning.

Audition Info for the Day Of
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled audition time and check in with the MSO table in the basement of Lowell Lecture Hall. There will be practice rooms reserved for auditionees to warm up beforehand.
