Perspective

About

Founded in 1985 amidst the Reagan presidency and the ascendance of right-wing campus media like The Harvard Salient, Perspective is Harvard’s liberal monthly. We do in-depth reporting on issues of campus concern, like the Allston project and the university’s sustainability initiative. We take strong stands before others will: We were the first publication to have a yearly women’s issue, we supported Drew Faust’s appointment as president before it was announced, and we are still the only explicitly anti-final club media outlet on campus. We also have a thriving arts section, centered at our back-page but including essays on topics from the impact of music downloads to political cinema.

We publish seven times a year, starting in September and ending in April. If you would like a taste of our brand of journalism, read some of our past features, editorials, and back pages. If you want to learn about our current leadership, visit our masthead. If you would like to join us, visit our comp page (fret not, it is quite painless).
