CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Pay for custodians and security guards at Harvard University lags behind inflation, according to a Harvard study. About 82 percent of janitors earn less than $ 10 an hour, compared with 20 percent in 1994, when the impact of inflation is considered. Fifty-eight percent of security guards earn less than $ 10 an hour, compared with 19 percent in 1994.
