Week-in-Review

Sexuality and the Republican Party: The event was interesting according to attendees. Many viewpoints were expressed, and the discussions were very far-ranging.

Phonebank with Harvard Dems for Marriage Equality in Maine: Successful event, good co-sponsorship.

Upcoming Events

Harel Skaat Concert: This Monday, 8-10 PM at the Cambridge Head Queen’s Pub. Out, gay Israeli singer who won the Israeli version of American Idol will be singing.

Blood Donation Campaign: Ivel and Ben are finalizing the letter that will be sent to the FDA and co-signed by students. Over the next two weeks, they will be tabling at Annenberg and the dhalls. Sign up to help up table on the Facebook group, and we will be sending out pub emails about this!

Discussion on Masculinity (with Trevor!): This Thursday, 8:30-9:30 PM, in Ticknor Lounge, Boylston Hall.

Queer Online Dating Panel: This Thursday, 5:30-7:30 PM in Ticknor Lounge, Boylston Hall.

Queer Poetry Reading: This Friday, 6-8 PM in Ticknor Lounge, Boylston Hall. Cheese and crackers, keepin’ it classy. Three people are already signed up to read – if you are interested, please email neimyescobar@college.harvard.edu

John Harvard’s Bar Mitzvah: This Saturday, November 3, from 9:30 PM – 1 AM in the Sheraton Commander. Hillel’s first formal co-sponsored by the QSA, $5 open bar, food and swag. All we have to do is pub the poster over our lists!

Possible IWRC Co-sponsorship: IWRC (International Women’s Rights Collective) and the Harvard Foundation are holding an event on domestic violence and social inequality. November 5th, Boylston, 8 PM. The event will focus on the habitualization and cyclicality of domestic violence within disadvantaged communities, the stigma of such violence within these communities, and actions we can take in response to this. There will be a panelist who will speak about domestic violence on Native American reservations, also panelists on domestic violence in communities of color and in the trans and queer communities.

Event on transgender people, intimate partner abuse, and the legal system: November 5th, 5-7 PM, Wasserstein 2004. Event held by the Harvard Civil Liberties Review.
