Haydn’s Creation

On April 26th, join us for our ARTS FIRST performance of Haydn’s Creation with the Harvard Glee Club,
Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and professional orchestra.

About Us

History

The Radcliffe Choral Society was founded in 1899 by the first President of Radcliffe College, Elizabeth Cary Agassiz, and is one of the oldest women’s collegiate choirs in the nation. President Agassiz called upon Marie Reuter Gallison, the first conductor of the Choral Society, to establish RCS in order to “give the chance to join in singing with others to every Radcliffe student who wished to do so.” Read more →

Audition

RCS, as part of the Holden Choruses, holds auditions each year at the beginning of the fall semester. Auditions take place in two rounds; the first round is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard. Read more →

An Introduction

The Radcliffe Choral Society, founded in 1899, is one of the oldest and most preeminent collegiate women's choirs in the nation. Performing distinctive literature from the Renaissance to the present, this 60-voice choir tours domestically each year and internationally every four years, most recently to the Balkans, Western Europe, South America, South Africa, and Costa Rica. The 2012-2013 season features concerts with groups from across the nation, including the Grammy®-nominated Sweet Honey in the Rock®, and a performance of Haydn's Creation with the Harvard Glee Club and the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum.
