About this project
The purpose of the Scribe Database is to help musicologists identify music copyists or scribes of Bach's music. The system is, however, flexible enough to be applied to the identification of scribes of other composers' music. It contains all information relevant to the scribes, their handwriting characteristics, manuscripts, and the libraries in which they are to be found.
