ABOUT SCOPE

The Harvard-Radcliffe Student Committees on Premedical Education is devoted to providing educational, support, and volunteer opportunities for the campus premedical community.

Education Through SCOPE's newsmagazine, speaker series, and discussion groups, premedical education at Harvard is complemented with an awareness of current events in healthcare.

Support Through its mentorship program, peer-led MCAT Review Program, and "Partnerships in Health", SCOPE is about students helping students. By encouraging the physicians of tomorrow to work together today, the organization does its part to build a spirit of cooperation, a spirit that is becoming ever more necessary in the medical profession.

Community Service Our community service committee runs programs ranging from a sock drive for the homeless of Cambridge to a bi-annual Volunteer Information Fair, in which dozens of health-related programs throughout Boston are invited to visit and recruit for volunteers.

As of February 1999, SCOPE's eight committees comprise 140 active members, serving over 600 affiliates. Some of our programs such as Medmonth also have members from other colleges. Other services such as our MCAT Review Program are open to Harvard students only, but we are working on helping other schools set up equivalent programs.
