Harvard Friends of Scouting

Who We Are / What We Do

Harvard Friends of Scouting (HFoS) is a new campus organization, having gained college approval on October 26, 2001. Our goal, to quote from our constitution, is to "[offer] undergraduates opportunities to serve the greater Boston community through service to scouting. HFoS further seeks to improve ties between the Boy Scouts of America and Harvard University."

To that end, HFoS organizes activities on the Harvard campus for local scouts. We work with the Cambridge District, Boston Minuteman Council to find ways that Harvard students can help the district achieve its goal of providing the best possible program to the youths of Cambridge. Students at Harvard are actively involved on the unit and district level, and other members of the Harvard community are actively involved on the unit, district, and council level.

We are also starting a program with the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.. If you are interested in working with the Girl Scouts while at Harvard, please contact Lisa Burns.

We welcome any and all members of the Harvard community to join us in serving the youth of Boston through Scouting.
