I saw you... Class of 2012! Congratulations! (figured isyh could use a positive post on here somewhere. The complaints and arguments and generalizations and call-outs are getting old, real fast). You should be proud of yourself, 2012 - you've done great! :)
i love me some racists
No I didn't misuse QED. QED. I didn't misinterpret his post. QED. And on a more serious note....it doesn't matter what you are intolerant of....even if it is the KKK. Being intolerant of intolerance can't help...it can't change people. It only makes those individuals hide their hatred (for example, lots of the racists we have in this country). The thing that made someone like MLK unique, in my eyes (I repeat, in my eyes....one more time, IN MY EYES) is that he never hated or talked down to those who oppressed him. You know what I mean? He wasn't intolerant of his oppressors....he didn't obstinantly call them derogatory names in retaliation for the harm they caused him. Nope. He knelt before them with open arms and asked why things had to be this way. When he died, the idea that one could love thy enemy kind of died with him no? Today, if someone says something racist (or not really racist, but stereotypical) on television, or slips up in some other way, we as a society force them to apologize publicly...like public humiliation to make them do pennance for the crime they've committed....but this won't change the way people are inside. All it teaches them is to keep everything bottled up...it's kind of sad. I'm writing this because I know nobody thinks like I do and some Jack*ss is probably going to post a snide response to everything I've said, but man....wouldn't it be great if we lived in a world where people ACTUALLY accepted each other? I mean deep down inside......somewhere along the line, we stopped trying to understand one another and that's when posts like the one below (the OP I mean) became accepted. I don't care what you say. He called those people evil....Evil? Is it evil for a church to go to a poor nation and give out food and clothing and other necessary supplies? Was it evil when churches all over the US sent teams to Haiti to help when the earthquake hit? Come on man....yes, they're going to try to spread their religion....but you know what? They're just trying to spread something that means a lot to them....to a lot of people, religion isn't bondage....it's something that helps them get through life and why shouldn't they want to spread it? And one last thing. Give us some credit...and when I say us...I mean people from the third world....because I'm not from around here....I wasn't born here, nor did I grow up here. We aren't idiots bro....we're not unthinking robots that are just going to believe anything that someone who has medicine tells us... Give us some credit. Please. Brainwashing? Are we children to you? I'm almost 100% positive the point I'm trying to make won't get through to anyone who reads this...and that's why I keep writing....is there someone out there who gets what I'm saying? Even a little? *Silence*......didn't think so. *Sad Face* QED XD
The fact that you used an offensive slur basically negates your argument that people who oppose your intolerance are bad. OP isn't opposed to missionaries because they aren't like him. He's opposed to them because they brainwash people. Plus, I'd say intolerance of intolerance is in fact a good thing. Being opposed to groups like the KKK is, dare I say it, good for society. Your suggestion that Christians are intolerant is amusing, since you are presumably Christian and OP didn't even bring it up. Also, you used QED incorrectly.
I saw you...totally misinterpreting the original post out of your apparent need to be offended. OP said NOTHING at all about being against religion, either in general or directed at any specific faith. He was purely taking issue with the missionary aspect of some religions. I might not go so far as to call it evil, but that's not the point - you're manipulating his words to try to make him seem like some bitter, intolerant, inconsiderate atheist who hates all Christians, which is a complete misinterpretation of what he was trying to say.
...
You're evil you d-bag........come on now. Just because you can't stand religious people (and let's be honest, we're not talking about buddhists....we're talking about christianity) doesn't mean you have the right to be a d*ck about it. And I get the whole "But they're intolerant, they've caused so much damage in the world, they don't believe in science" jazz, but I'm here to tell you. The intolerance of intolerance is still intolerance. If you eliminated religion (cough christianity cough), human beings would still have the capability to hate each other and you proved that with your post below. Religion isn't the problem. Christianity isn't the problem. It is people like you, who can't stand the fact that people exist in the world who aren't exactly like you, who have ruined this earth. You probably think you're different from the people who hold up signs against homosexuality, but you're not. You're the same type of people. You just believe in different things. Don't go around calling people evil. Stop making generalizations. This isn't about religion, this is about your ego. QED N*GGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw you...choir girl in the red dress, being alllllll over your boyfriend right in the middle of commencement. Couples like you make me feel uncomfortable.
I saw you... missionaries. You go out into the developing world and convince people - who pretty much see you as gods - that they must convert to your faith or face eternal damnation. They can't make an informed decision; you're just manipulating them through fear. WHY DOES EVERYONE TOLERATE YOU? Does the cultural erasure you spread not bother anyone? It makes me so sad that you're accepted and appreciated even in a place like Harvard... :( I really hate what you do. It's wrong. Unethical. Terrible. Evil.
