About Holworthy
You gotta love Holworthy! You will live in a suite, which consists of a spacious common room with lots of light and two bedrooms, one of which is smaller than the other. When deciding who is going to get what room or desk I suggest you draw straws so that nobody will feel resentful that the other three roommates conspired against him/her. You will share a bathroom with the adjacent suite but don’t worry about eight people using the same bathroom. There are two sinks, two toilets and two showers and the only disadvantage is that there are no windows so in case anybody wants to dye their hair the smell of ammonia won’t leave for a good couple of hours. The doors lock themselves automatically, which is great if you tend to forget to lock them but problematic at the same time if you forget your keys inside. The proctor of Ho Central, where I lived, Ron, is the best – become his friend if you can. There are four floors and for those of you who might live on the top floor, be prepared to visit your friends elsewhere because from experience I can tell you that people are usually too lazy to climb up the stairs. You can do your laundry in Thayer or Stoughton basement. The best thing about Holworthy is its proximity to Annenberg, the Science Center and most other buildings where you will have your classes. Its location is really ideal. The view from the windows is beautiful as you can see the entire yard, even the little squirrels running around. One word of advice is that you should make a conscious effort to know the people in the other entryways, if you are a social person that is. Because the entryways do not communicate with each other you might spend an entire year in Holworthy without knowing who lives behind your bedroom wall...
