About Wigglesworth
Wiggs is made out of rooms of 4 roommates who share a common room, 3 bedrooms (2 singles and 1 bunk-bed double) and a bathroom. We switched rooms in February so that everyone could have a single. The third floor has slanted ceilings. The floor is wooden and the walls are white.
Wiggs is a long chain of entryways with several gates or paths crossing it and dividing it. A through D are one building, then E to H or I and then another 2, so there are 3 Wiggs, with the smallest one called the Wigglet. Each entryway has 2 rooms on the first floor (both guy's rooms), 2 on the second, and either 1 or 2 on the third floor.
There are three sections of Wiggs basements and they do not connect, so that Wiggs people have to go outside and then enter another entryway if they want to visit the part of the basement that is not beneath their section of Wiggs. Wiggs A-D has music practice rooms beneath it, with piano's and soundproofing. You're supposed to need a key from the FDO, but sometimes people leave the door open. The center part of Wiggs has a laundry with vending machines, a big common room with lots of couches and a TV with a VCR, a trash room, and a few misterious doors which supposedly lead to the heating and cleaning closets.
We are at the far south side of the yard. That means that Wiggs is far away from Annenberg, but is closest to the River Houses. This is inconvenient, but it means that many Wiggs people eat at the houses. Although they are at about the same distance as Annenberg, they usually have better food. Lamont and Widener libraries are very close by, as is Boylston where many events and several clases take place. Science and Maths classrooms tend to be at the science center, so they are far away, but many humanities clases take place within the yard and are only a few minutes away. Wiggs is so long that it is hard to generalize, because it is a long walk from one edge to the other, so something that is right next door for one Wiggs person might be across the Yard for the other. Western Wiggs is close to the Square and to the other Yard dorms, and Eastern Wiggs is close to Lamont, and closer to most Yard classrooms, the union dorms, FDO, and Expos offices.
